Disaster SNAP
Launch Viewer to Begin |
In response to 2011 storms, USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) provided important nutrition relief, including Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) benefits to more than 1.1 million persons. This webinar will provide an overview of FNS’s disaster response, from making emergency foods available in the immediate days after a disaster, to getting Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) benefits to disaster survivors in weeks that follow. FNS representatives will highlight lessons from the agency's newly updated "Disaster SNAP Guidance," including information on how FNS and states implement D-SNAP for persons not getting SNAP and replace benefits for disaster survivors already participating in SNAP. Webinar participants are encouraged to participate in a question and answer session moderated by FRAC.
